Kushies Toddler Diapers July 12, 2010 Vincent Rappa (Virginia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered these to try out cloth diapering for the first time. Since then, I have ordered other various brands so I have something to compare the Kushies to. The toddler size Kushies fit our 27 lb 10 month old as well as our 32 lb 2 1/2 year old. When I first started using them we did have leaks at night but, we have since fixed that problem and had no leaks with using a preemie size indian prefold or a doubler inside the Kushies to absorb more and night. They claim you can fold down the insert inside for more absorbancy but, I do not fold them because then the insert would be too low to cover the wet zone, atleast on a boy I would think. You do need to change cloth diapers more often then disposables as well. Overall I am really happy with the Kushies, they are absorbant, the best price you will find for an all in one/pocket diaper, as easy as using a disposable since they have velcro and there are no waterproof covers and snappies/pinning/folding to deal with like other diapers-so these are awesome for when your baby starts rolling over and crawling away during diaper changes. The only cons I can find are-they are not the most soft diaper out there but, my babies don't seem to tell the difference and the velcro does sometimes come undone in the laundry and sticks to other things so far the velcro is okay but, like any velcro cloth diaper I guess I have to just wait and see if the velcro stays in good working condition.
Not what I expected May 30, 2010 James P. Eslinger I was very disapointed when these diapers arrived. I was expecting the cute prints shown in the picture only to have received three plain looking diapers and two prints. Total bummer considering the prints were the main selling point for me. The diapers themselves don't hold as well as my BG's do but their not as expensive either. You have to be on top of your diaper changes to avoid changing everything and forget about it after a medium to big poop, it shoots right out the back every time. Over all I would not buy these diapers again or recommend them to any of my CD friends
awesome May 13, 2010 Rebecca M. Seamans (Baton Rouge, LA) I love these diapers. They are very lightweight, cute, well-fitting, and easy to clean. So far so good for my 2 month old son.
Not a good investment! April 27, 2010 Sarah Lewis (Ohio USA) These diapers were a total waste of money and the worst cloth diapers I have ever used! They didn't fit right, weren't absorbant, were bulky and were downright bad!
No matter what I do I can't get the smell out. April 18, 2010 Erin B. Hackman I have tried a wet diaper pale and a dry one. I have used a cold pre-wash with bac-out and a full wash on hot with Charlies soap. I have tried soaking over night with vinager and baking soda then washing them. I have tried washing them multiple times without any soap. I have also tried my regular detergent. I also choose a large load for only fifteen diapers. I use the disposable liners with these to get rid of the poop easier and I rinse before putting in my pale. No matter what I do I can not get the nasty smell out.
